General FAQ
Q: Do your logs come from sustainable forests?
A: All logs used by Prestige Log Buildings come from sustainable forests in Eastern Europe.

A: All our logs come from slow-growing Baltic pine. The wood is
extremely dense as a result of the slow growth, and has a life span of
over 100 years when properly maintained.
Q: Are the logs treated?
A: The pine is oven dried and develops a fine, eye-pleasing grain which
in-turn reduces the needs for additional staining. Prior to dispatch,
the material is treated to provide protection against pest attack and
the elements. Once installed, all buildings receive two coats of
microporous colour preservative stain.
Q: How long will my Prestige Log Building last?

it is properly maintained. There are log houses in Eastern Europe that
are over 300 years old.
Q: Is my Prestige Log Building guaranteed?
A: All our buildings are covered by a full 10-year warranty, provided they are maintained properly.
Q: Will my Prestige Log Building need re-treating?
A: Yes. All wood products need maintaining to keep their excellent
appearance and to protect them from the elements. As a general rule,
every 5 years the Log Building will require additional staining on the
exterior.
Q: Will I have any difficulty getting insurance for my Prestige Log Building?
A: Our logs are treated internally with a ½-hour rating fire protective
paint. Our clients have therefore had no difficulties in obtaining
insurance. If your building requires Building Regulations approval, the
structure must conform to all requirements under Building Control,
including fire resistance.

to site in flat packs, which can either be unloaded by forklift or
